In collaboration with Marskture, we offer gourmet oyster tours, concluding with a barbecue on Marsk Camp's terrace.
The vast expanses of the Wadden Sea offer a wealth of unique and fantastic natural experiences. Perhaps the most intense and sensually challenging is the oyster. At low tide, enormous oyster beds are exposed around the Wadden Sea. The many tons of Pacific oysters found in these beds give us all the opportunity to pick one of the world's most exquisite delicacies, directly from the Danish World Heritage site.
The guide takes you out across the mudflats to the oyster beds, located in the cleanest part of the Wadden Sea. Once you have gathered enough oysters, we will, of course, taste them. You will learn to open oysters in the correct way. Listen to the guide talk about life here in the far southwestern corner, where the nearby burial mounds testify to people living thousands of years ago. Consuming oysters is always at your own risk.
During the tour itself, we taste 4-5 raw oysters with various toppings, but you can, of course, eat as many as you like if you open them yourself.
Back at Marsk Camp, we grill with different toppings, and there will, of course, be refreshments available. (including non-alcoholic) Other beverages can be purchased at the reception/restaurant.
The tour is not suitable for those with walking difficulties and wheelchair users. Extra caution is advised if you have had hip or knee surgery.

INFO
The tours have a maximum of 25 people and there are initially 2 guides, so one can guide in German/English. The tour lasts about 3½ to 4 hours including the grilling part, and you should wear practical and warm, wind and waterproof clothing as well as long rubber boots. Bring a bucket for your oysters. It's a good idea to wear gloves (such as neoprene, gardening gloves, or similar. Waterproof gloves can be purchased from the guide). Bring a change of clothes, as you might get a bit wet and mud can easily get on your clothing.
MEETING POINT
The meeting point is the parking area at Skiffervej near Hjerpsted beach, but it may be moved to Rømø due to tidal conditions; this will be informed by the guide via SMS. Therefore, it is important to provide a personal mobile number and not a work phone that is turned off when you are off work. If weather conditions cause the water level to be exceptionally high, the tour will be canceled, and a voucher will be issued.
